The Dalhart High School Law Enforcement Program and the Dalhart Police Department have partnered since 2011 to offer the Law Enforcement Ride Along Program. Through this program, students interested in a career in law enforcement have the opportunity to ride with Dalhart, Texas, police officers to learn the day-to-day operations of a police department.

As a result of this program, there are currently 4 active police officers serving their communities in the state of Texas, including one of our very own Dalhart police detectives. 

Numerous jailers, dispatchers, probation officers, and other criminal justice personnel are actively working in Dalhart and across the state, and they were encouraged to continue their pursuit of a criminal justice career because of the excellent mentorship program between the Dalhart Police Department and the DHS Law Enforcement Program. To participate, the student must be enrolled in the Law Classes at Dalhart High School.
