As we prepare for the upcoming XIT Rodeo & Reunion, taking place August 6–8, we want to remind residents and visitors of important regulations regarding golf carts and UTVs to help ensure a safe and enjoyable weekend for everyone.

Golf carts and UTVs are NOT permitted on FM 281.

Additionally, all golf carts and UTVs must be properly registered to be legally operated on roadways within the City of Dalhart. Any golf cart or UTV that is not registered is prohibited from being driven on public roadways, except as part of the official XIT Parade.

The City's golf cart and UTV ordinance will be strictly enforced throughout the rodeo weekend. These regulations are in place to protect the safety of residents, visitors, pedestrians, and motorists during one of the busiest times of the year.

The XIT Rodeo & Reunion brings a large number of guests to our community, resulting in increased traffic and activity throughout town. We ask everyone to do their part by following all traffic laws and vehicle regulations so that we can enjoy a safe and successful event.

For information regarding approved roadways for golf carts and UTVs, registration requirements, and answers to other frequently asked questions, please visit the Dalhart Police Department website.

Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping keep our community safe. Have a fun, safe, and memorable XIT Rodeo & Reunion weekend. We look forward to welcoming residents, families, and visitors as we celebrate this great Dalhart tradition together.
